Arbor Vitae
Arbor Vitae is an independent physician-led organisation that supports healthcare professionals in their relationships with the pharmaceutical industry. Engaging positively with pharmaceutical companies can be beneficial to patient care and professional development, however, many healthcare professionals find themselves unprepared and unsupported in their relationships with commercial organsiations.
Whether you are experienced in consulting to Industry, are interested in starting to consult, or are simply seeking grant funding from a pharmaceutical company, we believe that our on-line services will help you follow some simple principles that may help safeguard your reputation:
- EDUCATE: Train in the relationship with Industry. Understand what it is "you don't know, you don't know". Build an understanding of each partnering activity before you proceed.
- APPRAISE: Conduct a structured due-diligence on any activity you might undertake. This should highlight any potential problem areas and allow you to clarify and resolve these before you proceed.
- DOCUMENT: Keep a record of your appraisal, and all other documentation pertaining to any activity, in case of future scrutiny.

DISCUSS: If in doubt, seek advice from your peer group. Invite your peers to scrutinise your work with Industry.
Founded in 2003, Arbor Vitae has trained hundreds of senior healthcare professionals at our bespoke workshops. We have incorporated our training materials, our own experience of the pharmaceutical sector, and feedback from our delegates into this new interactive website. Workshops
Arbor Vitae has been holding workshops for the past three years. Clients have included The Royal College of Psychiatrists, The British Cardiac Society, and St George’s and South West London Mental Health Trust to name but a few.On an invitation basis, we are able to design training workshops to meet the particular needs of your Trust, University Department of Professional Association.

Membership
Our online services are available to Members only. Membership is free (*) and is available to the following groups:
- GMC registered physicians
- RPS registered pharmacists
- NMC registered nurses

*Our aim is to keep this service free for Members for as long as possible. However, depending on site usage and demand for new services, we may need to introduce a small membership fee at some point in the future. If this happens, we will give Members several months notice. Any Member not wishing to continue if fees are applied will be able to request for any of their data stored with Arbor Vitae between now and the point when fees may apply to be returned to them in electronic format.
